Alphinity has developed a novel blending pump with the capacity to be the center-of-gravity for Pharma 4.0. Offering flow rates from single-digit mL/min to over 200 L/min, the PIXER® product line provides scalability from the lab bench to the GMP manufacturing suite - applicable to all unit operations in current and next-generation manufacturing. Polymorphic Pump Technology® (PPT®) provides the option of having multiple injection ports and multiple outlets in a single pump, giving system designers and end users unparalleled flexibility and configurability in the smallest possible footprint. When configured with multiple outlets, a single PIXER® is capable of simultaneously maintaining homogeneity within a vessel by utilizing some outlets as recirculation loops, while other outlets are used as feed lines to route the vessel fluid through filtration or capture elements such as hollow fibers, TFF cassettes, viral filtration capsules, or chromatography columns. Sensor integration into the recirculation loops enable process analytical technology (PAT) and closed-system integration of analytical instrumentation to support QbD manufacturing strategies.
